We are looking to fill a General Manager (GM) vacancy.

Overseeing a recently restructured deluxe hospitality property in KSA, The GM will answer to the corporate office, but will own the responsibility to oversee, coordinate and direct the activities of the property.

 

The Organisation:

The employer is based in Saudi Arabia and owns, operates, and maintains high-end properties both in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Internationally. The properties are frequently visited by international entrepreneurs and VIPs, who require and expect as normal, top-tier level service. The portfolio of properties include: complexes ranging between 0.15 KM2 and 2 KM2 total area. On-site facilities typically include hospitality, conference and banqueting rooms, healthcare, sports and spa facilities, landscaping and some marine infrastructure. Properties in the Kingdom, often include power generation, desalination, waste management and other services.

Roles and Responsibilities

The GM ensures that the property and the team is equipped to do their work. Working closely with the heads of all departments, including: Housekeeping, F&B Service, Butler Services and Kitchen, along with Purchasing, Finance & Maintenance, the GM will safeguard the necessary coordinated and seamless synergy required between departments to guarantee service delivery is faultless, and facilities and equipment are maintained in perfect working condition and order. 

Setting by example, the GM is expected to lead from the front, providing the necessary enthusiasm and dedication that will inspire the whole workforce to remain focussed on delivering the every need of guests. 

The ability to support and develop the timely delivery of personalized services, while never accepting the status-quo, The GM will identify world-class, personalised and timely service methods, and wherever possible propose innovative approaches to better the existing quality processes and standards.

Entry Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 7-10 years or more of progressive hotel or luxury property experience, gathered in respected 5* world-renowned deluxe properties, and/or private residences and/or Royal Households
  • At least 5 year experience in a (senior) hospitality supervisory role
  • A management or leadership degree in Hospitality
  • Experience in opening 5 star hotels/luxury properties, and involvement in renovations, and major projects
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information, complex data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Experience in calculating and preparing operating budgets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • High proficiency in English, preferred working knowledge of Arabic

While, Quality Management, Celebrity styled Event & Food & Beverage Management exposure, along with an innate understanding of the rules of formal protocol and etiquette, would all be advantageous. 

Interpersonal skills

  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills appropriate for VIP guests
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English, and preferably also in Arabic
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to plan and conduct meetings
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Proven leadership demonstrating effective listening, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
