We are looking for a superb General Manager with a proven track record in advanced Team Leadership, Administration and Hospitality Management. Someone who presents proven managerial experience gathered in:

  • Luxury hotels and/or;
  • Royal Households and/or;
  • Private estates.

Candidate will oversee the management of a substantial private estate in Tangier, Morocco.

Roles and Responsibilities


The Residence has grown considerably over the last few years and there are many changes still to come. In order to protect the assets and to future-proof this stunning location we need a driven, conscientious and self-motivated individual with an exceptional eye for detail.

Candidates should be capable of 

Maintaining The Residence, its grounds and all the equipment in peak condition whilst it is unoccupied (approx. 10 months/year).

Oversee the progress of future and ongoing construction works, interior design and styling projects.

Provide clear, concise reporting to Stakeholders and Senior Management.

Candidates will be required to orchestrate the full set-up of all the Principal Residence, Guest Villas, Stores, Kitchens, Staff accommodation, Dining rooms etc. in readiness for occupied periods.

Candidates must show a clear hospitality driven career path, and must have already worked in and managed establishments renowned around the world for the exceptional levels of service they deliver.

The ideal candidate for the General Manager position will lead with a passion that inspires his or her staff to deliver service that is quite simply, ‘exceptional’.

The successful candidate will also be expected to provide strategic leadership expertise that ensures the effective and efficient operation of the residence while improving on the current model, and in doing so, help achieve yet higher standards of service across all the hospitality departments.

Organizational Positioning

The General Manager will report directly to The Managing Director.

Additional Responsibilities will include

Monitors and manages the quality of the services rendered.

Developing and implementing operational improvements.

Ability to assist in the selection and recruitment of Human Resources.

Promoting and maintaining awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practices and legal requirements.

Archiving accurate reports on the situation of operations and operating standards.

Prerequisites

Excellent revenue management skills with experience of budgets, P&L's and forecasting. Working with colleagues to share skills, knowledge, resources and networks. Highly focused, have excellent communication skills, be motivated and professional in appearance and presentation.

Overall

Co-ordinates and oversees all the hospitality functions across the residence.

Entry Requirements

Essential Skills

Fluency in Arabic and English would be required (French would be an added bonus).

The ability to manage a team of permanent hospitality staff, that includes: kitchen; food & beverage service; housekeeping and contracted services along with overview of the family’s inner entourage when they are in residence.

High degree of flexibility and organization skills to accommodate a fast paced, deadline driven and service oriented environment, patience will be a vital virtue.

Ability to work co-operatively as a member of a much larger team that includes other properties.

Proficiency in operating existing systems and protocols along with knowledge of the most widely used IT/systems & tools.

Effective at dealing with large amounts of information.

Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations, problems and complaints.

Asset Management.

Eligibility

A Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management would be an asset, or Graduates Bachelor Degree and/or diploma in hotel or other related field.

Computer knowledge, MS office, experience in Property Management Software's and Revenue Management Systems desired.

8 years experience or more, in a progressively responsible managerial role, with prior formation in event & banqueting management, food and beverage or housekeeping.

A grounding in health and safety and HACCP (or recognised equivalent).

Specialization in luxury hospitality.

Completely bilingual in English and Arabic (French would be an advantage).

Preference for a single person or married without children.
