House Assistant – Handyman

The House Assistant is expected to support the House Man/Head Chauffeur with a wide range of operationally essential tasks. The House Assistant is expected to work with the other members of estate team to deliver the highest level of service to the Principals. You will be working in a busy private estate where the ability to think on your feet is expected.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will be expected to have extensive experience in the following areas:

1.     Someone who will assist in the house/grounds/garages with the following duties:

·       Cleaning of private grounds and children’s play equipment

·       Carrying and moving of family property as required

·       Assist with household deep clean as and when required

·       Keep garage store room clear and safe to move within

·       Assist with car wipe down and preparation before leaving/upon returning

·       Take direction and specific instructions

·       Stock checks as required

·       Preparing rubbish for removal by refuse company

·       Full and clean UK driving license

·       Taking and collecting items from storage facility by supplied estate vehicles.

·       Any other duties that support the estate.

2.     General – Basic Handyman

·       Basic DIY skills

·       Basic painting as required.

·       Handyman skills

3.     Purchase items required by staff or family as directed.

4.     Location representative for family/staff in any location for works and removals

5.     Dogs – daily dog walking as requested

Hours - 50 per week

House Assistant reports to House Manager/Head Chauffeur

 

Entry Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

The House Assistant is expected to have worked at the highest level of service either within industry or have experience of working within a private house for UHNWI. The House Assistant is expected to work in partnership with the other members of the estate team, to deliver the highest level of operational performance. You should be educated to an acceptable level and be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills and knowledge within your respective discipline. It is expected that you will have at least five years’ experience, be adaptable to change and embrace new challenges.

Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadlines

Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

This is a demanding and high pressure role running a private estate at 7* level. This role would best suit someone who is at the top of their discipline and wants to take themselves to the next level.
