The Butler/Barman prepares beverages to be served to residents and guests ensuring these are always of the highest quality. The Butler Barman responds and pays attention to individual needs and expectations. The Butler/Barman supports the beverage service team to prepare for service and sets up and prepares all preparations required for service and breaks down beverage dispensing areas at the end of each shift. The Butler/Barman  works effectively in different environments including dining rooms, Majilis, Room Service and off site function set ups.

The role works with the Banquet Manager, Beverage Manager and Beverage Captain to ensure that beverages are always prepared on time and to the standards defined and expected by the organisation. The Butler/Barman also actively contributes to the creation of innovative recipes and presentations of beverages including mocktails.

The employer is based in Saudi Arabia and owns, operates, and maintains high-end properties both in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Internationally. The properties are frequently visited by international entrepreneurs and VIPs, who require and expect as normal, top-tier level service. The portfolio of properties include: complexes ranging between 0.15 KM2 and 2 KM2 total area. On-site facilities typically include hospitality, conference and banqueting rooms, healthcare, sports and spa facilities, landscaping and some marine infrastructure. Properties in the Kingdom, often include power generation, desalination, waste management and other services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of drinks, hot and cold in the dispenser Bar.
  • Take care of all suite rooms, reception room and dining-room, pantries as requested from the Senior Butler and the F&B Manager with all concerned departments to fulfil owner needs and requests, providing to organise the specific area of service of food and beverage.
  • Provide constant Bar Service and Butler service in your area, performing all owner duties with the sense of priority and dedication, serving in a calm, discrete and courteous manner, respecting timing standards.
  •  Arrange table setting (Formal and informal), Room service and Welcome drinks at any time it will be requested. Picks-up trays and clean tables as needed to ensure a clean dining area, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
  • Fully aware of the menu and drinks, communicates with the F&B Manager and the Senior Butler regarding menu questions and product availability. Keeps them informed about the owner food preferences, updating the guest preference, likes and dislikes, taking notes of all the information, updates and instruction and giving proper handover before signing off from the shift.
  • Follows all the owner needs until they are completed to the total satisfaction, with each food course and/or beverages
  • Responsible for all items and resources available in your area of work of the Butler service and helps monitoring the stock inventory and to follow up on pending issues with the tracking system and store requisition forms.
  • Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations of the Company and the policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • To attend and contribute to all meetings of the Butler service and training as scheduled and other related activities.
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned out of the list.

Entry Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent in Food and Beverage Service related studies
  • It would be considered an advantage to hold a Degree in Hospitality
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at a similar level and/or
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at a high standard of Restaurant or Room Service 5-star Hotel.

  • Positive attitude and good communication skills, with excellent grooming standards, clean, pleasant.
  • Provides a courteous, professional, efficient, flexible and personalized service at all times, with commitment to delivering a high level of service.
  • Excellent skills in the preparation of beverages drinks hot and cold.
  • Serves food courses and beverages.
  • He/she should be conversant with all services and facilities offered. 
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations and the ability to work on your own managing a team
