Butler / Housemanager | Northampshire

£50K to 55K Gross Per Annum

We are seeking a Butler / Housemanager for a newly created role, working for a busy family of 3, with a large extended family, who own a stunning Grade II*, 9-bedroomed, Queen Anne house, situated within substantial grounds, in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.

This role will suit an all-rounder who understands what it takes to maintain historic properties. While a candidate with good knowledge of wine and spirits, able to oversee the cellar would be a huge bonus.

A gardener and valet are already employed, and the first priority of the house manager will be to locate, interview and hire daily housekeepers/cleaners.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated and hands-on, and ready to manage the front-of-house duties and day-to-day running of this lovely family home. It is worth noting that The Principals are uniquely private, and they can claim to be a very accomplished host & hostess, who enjoy taking responsibility for cooking, preparing table, and entertaining their extended family and friends, so they would seldom require anyone to offer traditional butler/service duties.

It is imagined that normal hours will be: Monday to Friday, 9:30am until 4:30pm, with only very occasional need to  work evenings or weekends.

While accommodation is offered, employees are not be required to live-in on their days off.
