A family is seeking a professional, experienced, creative, and detail oriented chef to to prepare a variety of delicious dishes, to be served at Lunch and Dinner 

The family and guests are predominantly served buffets for lunch and dinner, with emphasis on presenting a wide variety of large format dishes and platters, that include different cooking styles: European / Indian / Asian / American / Caribbean / Middle Eastern etc .....

Working in a commercial kitchen, the chef will be expected to prepare dishes from scratch, including: lunch, and dinner, and must be able to fit in seamlessly with the other household and F&B service staff.  

NB. A driver would be advatageous

Roles and Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Show an ability to quickly develop relationships with the other team members 
  • Present creativity in preparing tasty, wholesome meals with a focus on avoiding pre-processed products as much as possible
  • Show an advanced understanding of hygiene, sanitation and safety standards
  • Be able to provide dishes, that fit with the style of agreed menus provided to the principals, guests, children and staff
  • Coordinates cooking and serving times with Principal's CofS, 
  • Be able to conducts scheduled and routine physical inventories for food and supplies
  • Coordinates with additional estate staff (security & drivers etc) for supply, pick-up and deliveries
  • Will play an active part in ensuring cleanliness of kitchen and all kitchen equipment
  • Listens carefully to instructions, to ensure the requirements of the Principal are met

Entry Requirements

The ideal candidate may have some or all of the following:

  • A culinary certificate 
  • 5-10 years of consistent and recent experience as a full-time commercial or private chef,
  • Will show he/she is knowledgeable and experienced in preparing a wide range of cooking styles (European/American/South American/Asian/Indian & Middle Eastern etc)

Eligibility

  • Candidates will show a proven understanding of the importance of maintaining discretion, and will exhibit a calm demeanor and that they are comfortable working in the home of a VIP
