Chef | Kensington High Street

£80,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Note: This role is 'On Hold' because the client's existing head chef has agreed to stay until the end of the year. Therefore, we expect the search to be relaunched in November for a start in the New Year. We will be pleased to continue to receive applications from suitable candidates.

A private household are seeking to recruit an exceptional chef to work at their  home situated a stone's throw from High Street Kensington in London – They do have properties abroad and a yacht, so there may be occasion for travel, perhaps to the yacht.

The chef will be required to cook for the Principals, their family and guests and will also be expected to prepare hot meals for the on-duty staff .

The clients enjoy sophisticated food, that tastes and looks stunning, they also have a growing interest in vegetarian dishes. Candidates must be able to show they can effortlessly cook a range of different cuisines, including: Italian, French, Mediterranean, Pacific Rim  through to fusion, plating everything beautifully, with refined flair and imagination.

The chef will also need to have a keen interest in producing food that conforms to the rules of good health, as the family like to maintain a positive lifestyle, where nutrition and general holistic wellness is considered. All ingredients must be sourced with care, should be organic and local whenever possible, with emphasis on seasonal produce. Although the family eat meat, as already mentioned they have a growing interest  in vegetarian dishes.

Working 5-days a week (there is a second chef who helps with the family's requirements, along with staff meals and covering days off and holidays) the chef will need to be flexible about their hours and be able to work some weekends, bank holidays and over holiday periods.

We are looking for someone who has a hands-on approach, a cheerful character and good communication skills. Someone that will deal with last minute changes calmly and efficiently, and who will exhibit exceptional attention to detail and excellent time management. Candidates will be enthusiastic and must show they are ready and able to work as part of an established team.
