Live-in Couple (HK & Gardener) | Hampshire Nr. Wincester

We are looking for a professional domestic couple, to act as housekeeper / gardener / guardians / caretakers for a truly lovely, chocolate-box styled, thatched and white-washed, 5-bedroom cottage situated in gardens of just less than 1 acre, close to Winchester, in Hampshire. (Circa 260 SqM of interior).

This picturesque family home, across 2 floors, is used for rare occasional weekend visits by a couple, who for the most-part, live full time in The Middle East.

Therefore we need candidates who will look after the property as if it were their own, will  integrate with the local community and play their part in village life, while acting as ambassadors for the owners - this may require the contribution of a cake for the village fete, or asking if the clients would like to contribute to the fundraising efforts of a local charity etc

The Housekeeper 

• to clean to a high standard, oversee and take charge of the household and prepare for occasional visits, which may include food shopping, booking appointments, co-ordinate dry cleaning, organising the principal's wardrobes etc;
• to manage and oversee contractors etc
• to prepare/cook very occasional light meals. etc

The Gardener

We need a keen gardener with good knowledge of horticulture, and grass mowing, to take charge of the garden along with managing general maintenance duties around the house. There is no issue to hire in help with duties that require 2 people or specialist tasks. 

The cottage is thatched, so co-ordinating with the thatcher, to ensure proper maintenance and repair of the roof is absolutely vital.
