Daily Housekeeper | Nr Sunningdale and Ascot

Our client requires a meticulous daily housekeeper to work at a picture perfect residential property Nr. Sunningdale and Ascot. The property has a relatively new interior, which has been well maintained, so offers a beautiful, sparkling, work environment.

The property is used as a holiday home, consequently it is empty for 6 months of the year. However, it must be maintained in a permanent ready state, so The Principals and their family, can arrive at short notice.

While the house is unoccupied the housekeeper will need to work collaboratively with other colleagues, including gardeners, maintenance and security staff, while she will report to a house manager who is based at another nearby property.

However, while the day to day running of the property is managed by a small team, when the family arrive they bring with them additional staff, which may include a chef, maid & butler etc. So it is vital that the housekeeper has a positive, friendly, can-do attitude, and must show they have the natural ability to fit-in seamlessly with an international, culturally diverse team.

When the family are not in residence the hours of work are based on a 5-day week, working predominantly Monday to Friday. However when the family are in residence, greater flexibility is required and expected, this will include some evening and weekend work - any extra hours/days worked will be given back in lieu during quiet periods.

Note: It is vital that candidates drive and have their own car to get to and from work.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Role: To help maintain and present the house and outbuildings in pristine condition and in a constant ready state. Candidates must show enthusiasm for their work and exhibit a practiced, keen eye-for-detail, strive for perfect results and take the old fashioned approach that “if they do a job it should be done properly”! 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the house is perfectly presented and in a constant state or preparedness;
  • Oversee all aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning, including care for fine furniture and surfaces, art, antiques, soft furnishings and the polishing of and care for all silver, brass, china, etc. etc.
  • Laundry and ironing of clothing and linens;
  • Packing and unpacking;
  • Management and organization of closets and cupboards etc;
  • Table serving/dining room skills would be a plus

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must drive, (to get to and from work)
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be hands-on, with experience in high-quality cleaning.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently / and as part of a team.
  • Excellent English and communication skills are required;
  • Hands-on with good attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic;
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills;
  • Offer Excellent, checkable references.
