THE POSITION

The role of Estate Manager for the Dubai properties is a newly created position and will include day-to-day management of staff, who are from a variety of backgrounds, to ensure calm and efficient running of the properties whilst maintaining a family atmosphere in the least intrusive way.  The Estate Manager will report directly to the Principals and will closely liaise with the Family Office and the Principal’s EA.

THE FAMILY

The family consist of 2 adults and 3 children (aged 12, 9 and 8).  The children are at school in Dubai and this is the family's primary family residence.  There are four properties, all on The Palm, with staff of different nationalities, currently working across all properties, although this arrangement is currently being rationalised.  Management of the staff is a major responsibility although in liaison with the CEO of Family Office.  Presentation of the properties must be meticulous but the house is a family home and a warm and comfortable atmosphere must prevail. It must also be a friendly and respectful work environment.

THE CANDIDATE

Male or female, there is an absolute requirement to find candidates who have prior experience of working in the Arabian peninsular, someone with established knowledge and understanding of the cultural mores and local workforce. Knowledge of the language would be a massive benefit!

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all residences on The Palm both staffing and maintenance.
  • Liaison with Family Office in relation to all properties.
  • Weekly meeting with Mrs Principal in regard to family residence and diary management.
  • Liaison with EA regarding Principals movements.
  • Daily liaison with House Manager re family and business diary.
  • Liaison with Catering Department re office and personal events.
  • Liaison with Boat Captain regarding usage and support requirements.
  • Household staff recruitment, induction and training.
  • Staff rosters for all properties.
  • Team building and respectful workplace ethic.
  • Setting service standards and delivery and monitoring same.
  • Establishing household policies and procedures.
  • Creating household manuals and maintenance schedules.
  • Implement maintenance schedules for all properties.
  • Engage trades people and service providers, in association with House Manager.
  • Security management of properties and of trades people.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT, electronic and security systems,
  • Liaison with providers of IT and electronic systems for quick recovery of system failures.
  • Event planning and organisation.
  • Inventory maintenance of wine cellar and beverages.
  • Liaison with Family Office re household budget.
