Housekeeper | Richmond

£35,000 - £40,000 DOE

Overview

A family are seeking to recruit a housekeeper to work at their home in Richmond but will require occasional involvement with secondary properties in London (1) and Europe (1).

You will work closely with the Principal and alongside a small team, which includes: Valet/Butler, Domestic Couple, Chef, Driver etc. The Housekeeper will be in charge of household organisation and will have responsibility for ensuring areas such as laundry and cleaning are run efficiently and to a high standard and that the valeting standards and wardrobes are always tip-top.

The housekeeper will need to be directly involved in laundry and cleaning duties and will be responsible for the overall appearance and atmosphere of the house, both on a day-to-day basis and during hosted events.

Although the Valet/Butler travels with the client when he is abroad or elsewhere in the UK, there will be some occasions when the housekeeper needs to travel too.

We are looking for someone who has a hands-on approach and is willing to personally involve in daily household tasks. You will have a strong character and excellent communication skills. You must be trustworthy and able to demonstrate that you can handle confidential information appropriately.

Note. The Housekeeper will report to The Household EA and Private Secretary to the clients

Hours

  • Based on the working hours directive, the housekeeper will be required to work 48 hours a week. However, when the client is in residence the housekeeper will need to be flexible to work longer hours, example 09:30 – 21:00, 5-days per week, and two weekends each month. The extra hours worked will be recouped when the clients are travelling (which is presently 6 months of each year).
  • Travel as required, to set up the townhouse in London and sometimes internationally (Europe);
  • There is a requirement to respond to calls and messages outside of working hours.

Note:

This role would best suit applicants who drive and own a car. However, the property is a walking distance (or a short bike ride) from Kingston or Hampton Wick Railway station.
