Housekeeping Supervisor | North London

Salary £35,000 P/A

 

We are looking for a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the daily management of a dedicated team that includes: daily housekeepers, a laundry team and housekeeping porters, for a significant and unique, newly-refurbished, prestigious private household in North London.

The specification, colours and interior design of the property, which includes the use of precious soft and hard materials and fabrics, along with antiques, art and custom-made furniture will make this a challenging but rewarding role!

The Supervisor will report directly to the Head Housekeeper and the House Management team.

Candidates must be able to show:

  1. they understand the important of working hand-in-hand with the other members of the estate team, so that every department is able to deliver the highest level of service to the Principals.
  2. they have significant housekeeping experience gathered in: Royal Households, respected private households, mega yachts (85M+) , renowned 5* super deluxe hotels, or smaller boutique hotels and/or the finest private members clubs.

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • managing the day-today running of the Housekeeping Department, to ensure delivery of the highest standards of service is delivered
  • cleaning, maintaining and presenting the rooms within the property and outbuildings
  • inspection of areas and rooms to ensure service and operational standards are correctly met (whilst never intruding on the privacy of the Principals, their Family and Guests)
  • managing furniture and room adjustments requested by the Principal or guests
  • the constant review of housekeeping policies, procedures and SOPs, updating the  house manual whenever needed, with the goal to to not only meet but then exceed the expectations of the client and guests
  • overview of wardrobe management, including: caring for high end materials and designer garments and jewellery, to include packing and unpacking
  • overview of personal maiding duties offered by the housekeeping department to the family and guests, which include: caring for clothes, running baths, dressing and delivery of calling trays etc
  • overview of the cloakroom, to include proper meeting, greeting and directing guests
  • provision of housekeeping services within the Spa to ensure spa hygiene standards are achieved (as directed by the management)
  • maintaining proper cleanliness in back-of-house and service areas and stock rooms
  • ensuring that information re' family requests and requirements are passed to the House Managers in a timely fashion
  • tutoring staff in the correct and safe use of cleaning products and equipment
  • managing and updating inventories, including: linens, clothes and consumables
  • issuing the correct linen for the Principal's and guest's accommodation, and for function and staff areas
  • prepare purchase requests, agree delivery times and liaise with security on delivery access
  • Ensuring proper stock rotation and storage 

 

Candidates must be:

  • Flexible with working hours and adaptable to change which might include weekends and bank holidays at short notice. Time will be given in lieu when overtime is worked
  • able and willing to carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the House management and Principals.

Entry Requirements

In addition to exhibiting proven housekeeping skills and knowledge, candidates must:

  • have experience of working in a laundry and knowledge of typical laundry procedures such as: sorting, spot-cleaning,washing, dry-cleaning awareness, pressing and folding
  • show excellent team building skills
  • have an exceptional and innate eye for 'attention to detail'
  • exhibit the highest standards of personal grooming
  • have the ability to work efficiently, both independently or as part of a team
  • be able to show a full understanding and ability to work with house systems
  • exhibit excellent communication and team building skills.
