Working in a great environment our Client is looking for an exceptional Maintenance and Facility Manager to oversee the smooth functioning of this substantial family home, along with secondary properties.

The position requires someone who is hands-on and able to oversee all household matters, including, but not limited to: technology, engineering & maintenance contracts, construction projects, pool/spa maintenance and the hardware required for: the care and storage of wine, art and antiques, security and landscaping.

The Maintenance and Facility Manager will need to work together with contractors and service providers to quickly familiarise him/herself with the technical systems incorporated into the property, which include: indoor/outdoor pool, media room, spa and gym, alarm systems, luton/creston lighting controls ad state of the art heating and cooling systems etc.

In addition, he/she will need to work with the existing management and domestic staff, teaching them the correct level of understanding for the relevant systems that have been incorporated into the property, so that everyone is able to use the systems and technology to provide the top level of service expected.

The successful candidate may have gathered experience in private homes, deluxe or boutique hotels or museums and galleries - indeed any property where great emphasis has been given, not only to cutting edge E&M and IT/AV systems, but also to the soft and hard finishes, art, antiques, fixtures and fittings.

Entry Requirements

It is vital that candidates are:

  • Enthusiastic and organised team players who will be hands-on when necessary;
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, along with an excellent command of English, spoken and written;
  • Able to work with a multinational team and able to devise teaching methods that will ensure all the staff know how to operate the household systems relevant to them;
  • Familiar with managing contractors and suppliers;
  • Able to take control of the supervision of all general household maintenance;
  • Able to manage accounts (sometimes in collaboration with the Private Office and House Manager and the Executive Assistants);
  • Able to acknowledge that, while this is essentially a Monday to Friday role, they will need to offer flexibility at weekends.

Eligibility

Candidates will have:

  • Excellent references that can be checked
  • Worked in high-profile establishments/households
  • Excellent knowledge of the rules of etiquette, protocol and good manners
  • The ability to always remain professional in every circumstance (and calm in those stressful moments)
  • The ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Have a proactive approach to work
  • A clean police record and be happy to undergo a DBS check 
  • Longevity in previous roles and a desire to provide a longterm working commitment to their new employer

While it is important candidates present the right credentials, the Client would like to emphasise they are looking for a Maintenance and Facility Manager who has a friendly and flexible nature and a proactive and forward-thinking approach to their work.
