A Wardrobe Keeper is needed for a high profile family living in North London. The role needs someone who offers exceptional skills and knowledge of their discipline,  an astute eye for detail and an innate vocational approach, one that will allow the Wardrobe Keeper to effortlessly maintain and upkeep a beautiful wardrobe!

The Wardrobe Keeper is expected to work independently, directly with the family, and with the other members of the Estate Team, to ensure that the household can deliver the highest level of service to The Principals.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Wardrobe management, caring for designer and couture garments, accessories and important jewellery, along with high end soft-finishes and materials,
  • Managing packing & unpacking for trips,
  • Ensuring proper temperature controlled storage of Furs, including: clothing, accessories and some soft furnishing made of quality furs and hides,
  • To manage and co-ordinate inventories of the wardrobes, including: clothing, accessories including linens used for The Principal's suite, toiletries and personal items,
  • Tracking and updating movement of clothes and items from web-based databases,
  • Travel to other residences as required, to oversee and inventory The Principal’s wardrobes and personal items,
  • Take direct instruction from Madam to ensure her preferences are carried out exactly (Keep Madam’s PA and relevant team members informed at all times),
  • Constantly review housekeeping and wardrobe standards, update the standards and house manual for staff to follow, detailing products used on different materials, together with outlining all the associated risks,
  • Ensure all service standards and operational standards are met and are well maintained while never intruding on the privacy of The Principals, their Family or Guests,
  • Being able to work in all areas of the laundry and able to undertake responsibility for The Principal’s laundry, including: sorting, washing, pressing, steaming, spot cleaning and dry-cleaning of clothing and accessories,
  • Undertaking lady's maid duties for guests to include caring for clothes, running baths, dressing and calling trays,
  • Anticipate the needs of The Principals and make their environment as comfortable as possible,
  • To promptly provide written information of family requests and changes to colleagues,

 

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Front of House duties may include: meeting, greeting and directing guests,
  • Following request of the family that may require sourcing items and/or liaising with management to procure,
  • Compile consumables requests with other departments and agree delivery times and liaise with security on delivery access,
  • Some responsibility for stock rotation and acceptance and movement of deliveries.

Entry Requirements

  • The Wardrobe Supervisor is expected to have worked at the highest level of service either within the private home of a UHNWI, or 5* Deluxe Hotel,
  • Excellent team building skills,
  • IT literacy to include Excel,
  • Good spoken English and Russian,
  • Additional European Languages would be helpful,
  • Exceptional attention to detail, 
  • High standards of personal grooming,
  • Excellent team building skills,
  • Flexibility with working hours and adaptable to change which might include working weekends and bank holidays and changing shift patterns at short notice (time will be given in lieu when overtime is worked),
  • To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the House management and Principals.
